Just wondering what the silencer for the N1 exhaust looks like and how effective it is. Does anyone know how much they cost? Thanks

 

I don't have any pictures, but it is just a baffle that sits inside the exhaust. The difference is noticeable. I use my R as a daily drivr so I have the silencer in during the week, but remove when racing. If you bought the ApexN1 then you should have received the silencer when you purchased the exhaust. There is no additional charge. If you bought it used you can probably get a silencer around $15.

 

I've got one, difference is pretty significant.

 

Sorry no pics, it's a cylinder with fiberglass insulation that acts as a baffle. It fills the whole "tip" section of the exhaust. Eliminates the raspiness as far as I can tell, and helps to eliminate that droan that you hear on the freeway. Worth it for any long-distance freeway trips...like if you drive from portland to bellingham (~4.5hrs) then I would put it in, otherwise you'll want to stop and walk halfway, then get to bellingham and have the hearing of a 110 year-old man.

 

I have a silencer for my N1 i personally don't know what it sounds like but i do know that it hinders performance . I threw mine in my tool box the day i got it. Found out tonight though while racing that when i shift my car was shooting flames
