Are these of the same quality as the Spoons and Regamasters?

Just as good as Spoons and Desmonds, but not quite as good as REGAMILFERS 5.0 - which is what I have on my Jetta.

Just make sure the anodizing is UV stable...or it will fade in the sun after a while. I had that happen on some bike parts I did a while ago....

To those who think that Rota's are as strong as Spoons look at these pictures of TravisEK's C8's after they were introduced to a local pothole.

Coversation:

Rota: Hi, my name is C8.
Pothole: F*ck you!
Rota: Ahhhh, I'm dying.

Um yeah, I'm bored at work, here's the link:

Yuh, but my limited edition REGAMILFERS would have demolished those potholes!

And who cares? The slipstream costs $100 the Spoon is nearly 5 times that.Does anyone really know how strong the Spoon wheels are?I doubt it.Who is to say they would have stood up?

No, no, no, the pothole woulda said the same thing to your REGAMILFERS. Pot holes are indiscriminate, they don't care what kinda knockoffs you have

Quality, who knows. But weigh about four pounds more wich I think is the real matter. But back to the topic. Those look good, real close to the spoons.

Just curious, had I not labeled the title as "slipstream...anodized" what would you go by to differentiate real vs fake?

Woah, either that was one bastard of a pothole or those rims are weak as ****. I've never seen a 15" rim get that trashed from a pothole.

Orson - who likes his stock rims just fine.

How much does it cost to anodize wheels? I'm thinking about anodizing my stockers since they are chipped.

BTW, they look pretty good, although I think you need to invest in a new digi cam now

There are many places that can anodize. Pick up a phone book and look under "metal finishers" or "anodizing" and you should find several places to do so. The question in hand is how much and quality.

Wow it cracked that wheel even with what looks like 50-55 sidewall tyre. I've seen the samething with 40-45 sidewall tyres basically hitting a pothole.

Actually Spoon wheels hold up to curb poundings in Gt racing all the time. Also why do you think MonsterSports uses the same manufacture for there wheels for rally and rallycross. To me anything that can take a beating like that will last.

no.

anodizing can have no real thickness and still have coverage, it is like a rusting (oxidizing) of the surface.
powder coatign uses powdered paint to coat the surface of a part that is typically electrostaticly charged to attract and hold more powder.
