Default How to deal with Fraud ( The Scammer being SpoonLSVTEC)

First of all, thanks for reading, here is the post: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=80113

Now I would appreciate it if anyone has had any similar experiences and if you have or know anyone who has, what would be the proper procedure to get this guy caught and to get my money back. I'm sure there is a big legal issue considering that he works for CSIRacing, which obviously is a business.

Thanks in advance,

Isaac

How much time did you allow before you give the guy a "scammer" name? In my experience, sometime transaction takes way too fugging long for no apparent reason. Understandably you can't reach the guy. What about e-mail? Give it a few more tries on his e-mail and wait another week. If nothing works, call the local authorities. (I do believe the members on this board are good people and would not jack other members.) G'luck.

A friend of mine got ripped off by the same person. Claim to have a VAFC for trade. My friend sent a Type R wing as a trade. But the looser never lived up to his end of the deal.

I anonymously e-mailed him 2 months after to see if he had a VAFC for sale. He said "yes I do, send me $250 and i'll ship em to you, Peace!" What a homo

1. Contact your local police, file police report.
2. Try to see if one of the moderators here can find the IP address of his ISP.
3. The ISP should know exactly who was using that ip number during the time he was on...report that this person was doing fraudulant activities over the internet. provide them with police report and any other evidence u have...
4. If you paid by CC, cntact your credit card company and report fraud.
5. If paid by check, contact your bank, they might be able to trace what account it was deposited into.
good luck

See, H-T members are honest.

p.s. to the original poster... no offense, but do not label a person a "scammer" until you have given it the longest possible time. In some cases, the "scammer" really turns into one and you'll not get anything in return.

aaah.. Good... clears things up so we can breathe clean air..
it is wonderful if we all can benefit from trading using the internet, no?
in my Home country, there is no way it will happen...
I mean, I don't even trust the postman..
USA
ever wonder why those Taliban hates us? Jealousy!!

Edit:
Hey.. what I wrote here means that it is good to see the family of H-Tech trying to clear things up in a mature way..
Buyers, be patient.... don't screw someone's name before you got the fact. it is hard to clear someone's name and you might regret it.
Sellers, better be true to your customer. Customer = king. always.
at least, that's how I do business.(both as buyer and seller)

Default My question is...

....if it was a misunderstanding, why did you not contact him and tell him sooner? Why did it have to be made public before you decided to let him know what happened? And what about the guy that sent the Type-R wing for the VAFC? Did he ever get it?

But, I know sh*t happens when you deal w/the P.O. and UPS. UPS lost my $2100 computer some guy bought through eBay over 5 months ago, and they STILL haven't sent me the $. They say that they shipped it back and I signed for it? Really? When I asked them to fax me a copy of the signed slip, they suddenly realized they made an "error." But they still haven't paid me, bastards!

You must have me confused with someone else. I never made a deal like that. I never even owned a vafc. I didnt contact him sooner because i assumed he had got it. I sent it priority 2 day so I figured nothing was wrong.

Scroll up and read, sir. Someone was saying that you were involved in that. I hope you get everything cleared up, though. Having someone cry wolf on a forum like this can kill you.

I say just give him till Monday to prove his point. Monday comes around and he doesnt live up to his words, then i say find the bastard n when he's off guard, jack his shiet or give it a new paintjob. But till then, USPS is not too reliable at this point with all the security measures enacted w/ all the recent events happening.

Yeah, USPS might take an extra few days to clear w/ the damn anthrax hoax. Also, I DO NOT TRUST UPS. Those fuggers lost my $1500 rims. They said, "we didn't do it... it walk away from the truck". Yeah, right. At least I got it settled and got my money back.

IF you have a problem with a shop or person, try http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp

However, make sure all your claims are correct and you can back them up. That means copies of all emails, times of all calls, etc.
