What is YEL/GRN FANC (Fan Output) Do on ECU?

What is YEL/GRN FANC (Fan Output) Do on ECU?
What does this pin do on the ECU and where does the wire go? On my P28 ecu it is pin A12 but the color/function of this wire is the same on most ECU's. Does this control the radiator fan? or condensor fan? or heater blower?
I thought the radiator fan was only run off of the coolant temp sensor?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
