i jus got pulled over today, 12:30 noon, he said my headlights are blue. which they are not. then he started looking around what else he can get me for, he said im not supposed to have window tints, i only have my drivers side window tinted, which is the lightest tint u can buy. i think its 50%. becuase my passenger side has no tint due to my car getting broken into b4, i bought my car with the tint, so i had no clue tint was illegal? he gave me no warning, no nothing. just a $75 ticket for something i did not know. shouldnt it be a "Fix it ticket"? how is having one window tinted a "traffic violation"? it makes no sense to me.

 

in delaware they can pull you over for tint. even 50% or even 80% on factory tinted windows will still fail. good luck but i think they got you. the lights? i really dont know on that.

 

if i say i took out the tint in court, willl they drop the charges?

I do believe it is up to the officer... and ignorance of the law is no excuse.....

it doesnt make any sense why would automobile manufactures put factory tint on their cars if your saying its illegal in your state. Well then why car dealers sell car with factory tint if they do not pass the govt requirements.

 

I don't kno where you live but in miami all you have to do is take a picture of your car without the tint take that 2 court and it would be dismmised

not to be a pain in the a@$ how are you going to prove that tint belongs to your car hold on... hhmmm...the only way to prove it if you measure the diameters of your window and the diameters of the tint and take it to court maybe you have a case hhhmmm....i dont get cops they make a big deal for light tint... i have medium tint and i gotten stopped for speeding but they never check my tint.

 

what kind of bulbs. switch to SYLVANIA SILVERSTARS. they are soooo money. but 20 bucks a pop. ouchy.

wont the judge say how do i know if u took the tint off before you took the picture.

u got a ticket for the tint or does it say on the ticket tint on driver side only.. what does it read?

 

the ticket says" obstructed/ tinted windowS" i even showed the officer that only my drivers side had tint and that my car had tint when i bought it.
cop was being a jerk/pig. i guess he couldnt afford his donuts today
but yeah, the ticket clearly states... " obstructed/tinted windows" so its for both windows....

haha funny dude! well anyways back to the subject if your not sure if its illegal to have light tint call the police station if they say its okay to have the lightest tint well then take pics of your car with the tint on thats what counts or also do it like i told you before take measurements if thats if your going to take the tint only but its best to take the pics with tint on and hopefully the judge will dismiss this part of the ticket and maybe also the about bulbs he is going to see the cop was being a jerk and the cop will get in trouble! good luck!

 

yeah, having window tint in the front windows is illegal in my state, i guess ill have to just take a pic of the untinted window and say i took it off. the ticket was for the tint, not the headlights, i had stock oem bulbs in there too! my headlihgt houseings are black/blue ions. goin to be changing them out to my DIY black headlights. thanks for the replies guys!

dont worry dude i got two speeding tickets last month and im still paying for them. For one ticket im taking drivers ed and the other ticket maybe i fight in court cause the cop had his lights off before i passed him so there was no way i could see him after i passed him he caught me i was going bout 73 on a 55. I was told if a cop has his light off is illegal anybody know if thats true but also how am i going to prove he was hiding.

it should be a fix it ticket....i always heard any tint on the front windows is illegal...so he got u there...on the lights this was the reason he pulled you over? well anyways swap out some bulbs or just tell them you have really bright factory bulbs and thats the way the car came....thats lame ...sry to hear that cops are ******** sometimes
