oil pressure gone bad.. *HELP*
i dont know wussup with it anymore. i have a autometer oil pressure gauge and when i crank to ignition the needle goes straight to 100( it's from 0-100).. did i do something wrong. everything is hooked up right. got a good ground, ignition goes to ignition, and sender goes to the sender on the oil pressure unit that came with the kit. did i blow the sender or something?

Sound like the sender wire is grounded somewhere. Try disconnecting it from the sender and see what happens.

What does it do if you disconnect the sender wire from the back of the gauge?

then basically it doesn't work if i do that... as of today, i got a copper extention so that i can actually tighten up the sender on the block. because i just hand tighen it and it was leaking oil.. but odd thing is, it doesn't react anymore.. everythings connected but it plays as if it's not even on anymore.. i'm lost.. someone got any clue to what's going on?

It sounds like a problem with the sender wire then.

If what you are telling me is true. If the gauge shows high presure with the wire disconnected form the sensor and goes to 0 when disconnected at the gauge, your sender wire is grounded somewhere.
