Default Punching or Replacing factory Cat

Is it safe to punch out the factory Cat on the EP3, or will this mess up something since it has 2 sensors in it?

You will get a Check engine light staring you in the face all of the time and a scorning from mother nature.

So what if i were to just buy an aftermarket cat? Would that cause the check engine light to come on? and do they have spots to plug in the o2 sensors

I got an aftermarket cat and I still get the CEL 67 once every week or so. its a pain bc while its on I loose ATTS an my prelude so I have to resent it once a week. Worst part of it all is resetting all my radio presets - oh the horror. I think it depends on which cat you get. I got a Carsound roundbody type, but I heard the carsound ovalbody ones dont throw CELs, can anyone confirm or deny this?

if you just pull the ECU fuse instead of unplugging the battery, you will not have to reset your radio presets or anything else with a memory (i.e. auto up/down power windows on a RSX.)

carsound makes a replacement cat that doesn't throw a CEL. I have one and it works great.
