how many degrees should i adjust my cam gears to get the most power out of them

Default how many degrees should i adjust my cam gears to get the most power out of them

i have b16 with type r head and valvetrain. i want to adjust my hayame cam gears but dont want to bend the valves adjust too much. does anyone know from experience the best way to adjust cam gears to get the most power but still be on the safe side.

do it on a dyno. and if your not sure, pull the head and clay it.. then you'll know how far you can go.

for now w. out a dyno..do +3 intake and -1.5 for exhuast..but u really should do it when dynoing..

i was told by a local drag racer to turn the intake to the left 1 degree and the the exhaust cam to the right by 1 degree. will this make any hp/trq?

should i tune with my distributor cap set at original timing marks? can i advance my timing after tuning my cam gears or will it bend the valves?

Every time you change the intake cam gear, redo your timing. And doing it by copying somebody else's cam gear setup or taking someone advice isn't good. Even if the setups are exactly the same, every motor is different.

just my .02 degree the cams to 106/108 or 105/107 because most of the work of getting air into the engine is done with in the first 100 or so degrees of crank rotation.
