a week ago or so the CEL started flashing now and then and at 10-30mph the R shakes like crazy when it's cold and I also hear some ticking sounds coming from the engine bay (as if something is hitting against something) on the driver's side...then when it warms up it gets better...
This does not happen at idle, only when accelerating and at full throttle I hear some other weird sounds ...I checked the O2 sensor, but it's not that...
Now I'm not asking anyone to guess what it is, but maybe if someone had some idea I would appreciate it since the Honda dealer didn't even figure it out thanks

I checked the codes, but since my stock ECU is modified (yes the stock one) the code system doesn't work anymore...I will find someone to lend me one so I can check but in the meantime I wanted to see if anyone had experienced the same...

 

How is your stock ECU modified so that it cannot retrieve CEL codes?

 

both hardware and software have been modified...and when I checked the codes there was just one continuous light and nothing more...

 

Run through any big puddles lately?
Missed a shift and overreved?
Does your ECU even have an engine speed/rev limiter?

 

Didn't think that was feasible nor worthwhile on a OBD2 ECU.

 

Bad exhaust manifold O2 sensor?

So, if you had it to do over again, would you have modified your ECU the way you did?

No I haven't run through puddles nor overrevved...and yes I have the rev limiter set at about 9k rpm...
And to answer the other questions no I don't regret it at all...the ecu is similar to the mugen one, but I have to say that on my basically stock R it runs great! Alex Woods who has a 245 whp n/a R made it...
But in any case I don't think it's the ecu causing this problem...

then why didn't you just get a mugen program instead of ******* everything else up?

what are you dynoing?

who cares about alex or tiger woods.

its not the ecu causing the problem..its the ecu preventing you from fixing it
