Default 15" Rota Slipstreams and Falken Ziex Ze-512 tires, good deal?

Hey guys, first time here and have a question. I have a chance to buy 30 day old 15" Rota Slipstreams with Falken Ziex Ze-512 205/50r15 rubber for $1400 or $1500 with a full set of C-West Titanium Lugs, is this a decent deal? These are the rims I've been looking for so it would be great to pick them up, but I want to make sure it's a decent deal. All Price are in CANADIAN funds and my car is a 1996 Civic DX Coupe.

I don't have springs or shocks yet so do you guys think it will look ok without a drop for the time being? Thanks for the help guys!

the rims alone should cost about $400... so that seems pricey, I know nothing about those tires...

$1400 Can. works out to $1049 in US funds. I want some Rota's guys! Also, from work (Visions Electronics) I am able to get DAI rims and they have the exact same Rota Slips, not too sure on price yet, but I think it will be cheaper. But untill then, where else can I get Rota's in Canada?

in US Funds, the Rota Slipstream costs $430 shipped ($573 CAN) for the set according the the sponsers in the Sponsor Market Place forum.

I'd still wouldnt pay that price if it came wrapped in brand new S03's

if your spending $1050 US you better not end up with rotas.

So are there ANY authorized dealers in Canada, preferably in Saskatchewan for Rota? What about any other Spoon knockoff's that are available?

Btw, thanks for the info guys, I'm not gonna buy from this guy. I thought it was way too expensive.

Ok, I found some Spoon knockoffs over at http://www.directautoimport.com and they are $139 per wheel (canadian) and $36 for shipping. This sound like a decent buy? They look identical to the Rota's.

Here's a pic of them http://www.directautoimport.co...K.jpg

So what about ordering from http://www.Directautoimport.com? The rims would be $139 and the tires, Falken ZE-512 in 205/50r15 would be $112. Total bill with shipping for the rims would be $1040, which would be $780 US. How does that sound? Better deal to me.

Just takes longer, I believe. I've received numerous parts shipped from Canada. Sometimes they open up the package at customs...but I mean, rims and tires, whoopity doo. Just look for a US site that ships up north.

Do not buy DAI wheels they are garbage my friend works for them as sales rep. Pretty damn crappy. As far as shipping it's not that bad as long as the product is made in the states then you don't pay tax or duties. So buy the rotas of ebay or a site from the states pay the extra shipping and just pick up some tires locally. 15" tires aren't that damn expensive. I picked up my Spoon Sports SW388s with brand new tires sticker on them (Yokohama AVS ES 100) for 1700$ w/ Spoon wheel Nuts as well. If your paying 1500$ for knockoffs then I don't think it's worth it.

ok, so tell me where you guys get your Rota wheels other than off of E-bay. On the Rota home page they don't say anything about authorized distributers. I KNOW there's a good shop out there, but which one? Sorry for being in the dark about all this, this is the first time I've even looked at rims/wheels before.

$1000.00 for Rotas with **** tires is a total rip-off.

Falken Ziex tires suck *** bro. I had a set back in the day and they simply suck. they are hard as a rock, yet don't last all that long. They "look cool" but that's it.

Rotas sell all day every day for about $450.00 online and my shop sells them for $440.00 pick-up or $640.00 with Kumho H-rated 711 in 195-50-15. We sell them with Azenis for $752.00 out the door, on the car with Falken Azenis which are sticky-*** tires.

Bottom line?

You're paying well over $300.00 too much for slightly used **** with no choice in tires.

That's where I ordered mine from and I had no problems at all...

Tom, how do you figure that they suck ***? I have had mine for a while and haven't had any complaints at all. They are a smooth, comfortable ride for me. Of course they aren't top of the line performance tires, but they are definitley worth the money. They are all season tires that will perform better in the rain any day then Azenis...
