Does anyone know if you have to have a diagnostic machiene to get ECU trouble codes for sensors and stuff, or can you turn the key off and on and tell by the dings or blinking check engine light or something? (94 civic)

When you put a cold air intake in does that affect any of the oxygen sensors or ECT sensors?
