Default B18c1 VS. H22(a) ???

What is a better swop for a 95 Civic ex and why? What are the 1/4 times I should be hitting with any one of these swops? I am looking to get this swop done in the next month but am still getting about a 50% answer about these two engines. WHAT ONE IS BETTER!

What are your plans? are u trying to go for all motor or forced induction.. for a 95 ex i would go for a Gsr motor but thats just me.. you could probably hit in the high 13'z with a Gsr motor in your car..

I am not sure what I'll be doing... A greddy turbo kit sounds nice but i am getting mixed feelings from friends about it.. some say it is going to take about 100,000 miles off my engine life... some say i don't need it if I just swop and add bolt ons... but some say It is all I need with my swop to hit my 13's.. what do you think?

I hate to give the standard response, but please do a search. This is probably one of the most covered topics across this forum, if not THE most covered topic.

Read the thread at the very top of this forum.

And I can't answer your question because I don't know what you mean by a "better" engine.

One has 200 Hp, but will take more work, one has 170 HP and will be an easier swap. Is that what you wanted to know?

Like something different, go H22.

If you like factory fit and finish, B18C.

i'm a b-series freak..... more swapability w/ internals..... so i'd say gsr motor.... if you look into building motors, the gsr is really easy to build being b-series and all... that and its a pretty pimp motor in itself. i just say a 5th gen hatch vx trim that had a gsr motor w/ I/H/E and he ripped a 9.1 1/8th at like 79 or 80mph this past weekend (damn near 14.0's) w/ a bump in compression, a good set of cams, and some time on a dyno tuning.... you could see high maybe mid 8 1/8ths or high maybe mid 13 1/4's.... i'm not too positive on what people have turned w/ h22's in 5th gens.... prolly like high 13 low 14 1/4's.... do the same stuff and you'll be there.... gsr will be alot easier of a swap. but i like gsr because of build ability

Looks like GSR it is. Thanks everyone. I'll get the swop done in about 20 to 30 days and let everyone know how it goes. Engine should cost about $2,300 form the sources I have looked at.. anyone have a better source hit me up. Also, know how I should go about getting it installed? I know the auto places around my house are going to try and rape me. Thanks

honda charges around 1600 labor for swapin motors..... thats factory to factory and sometimes you can find a dealership that'll let you put another motor in the car.... rinky dink shops will cost you about 800 to 1000 to do the swap and might not do it right.... performance shops usually around 500-800... make sure its a good shop not one that specializes in taillight sales and intake installations. if you do it urself... its rather easy actually....

Your talking to the wrong shop if they are telling you a GSR wont fit in your car.
That swap has been done a million times...
