I have eibach sportline springs and tokico blue struts on my 96 EX civic. My car doesn't handle bumps at all. It slams pretty hard if I hit sudden dip or bump. Should I upgrade my struts or what? Anyone have a similar setup and a solution?

 

I don't think the blues aren't meant for a big drop, try some Koni's, KYB AGX's or Tokico Illuminas.

I am surprised you have problems with that setup. I personally have Ground-Control coilovers on Tokico Hp's (blues) and it rides great. Check to see if your cv axle is torn or check for a blown shock. Both would cause it not to ride right. If you upgrade, all I would suggest is the Koni Yellows. The AGX's are prone to blow, the Illumina's are exactly like the HP's, just have adjustability. I have ran many suspensions, hit me up if you need any advice!!

 

by any chance did you cut the bumpstop like it said to on the installation sheet for the springs maybe thats y yoru car bottoms out cuz i have the eibachs wit kyb agx and mines dont bottom out

 

Yes I cut them the way I was supposed to. Just doesn't seem to ride right. Kind of a soft feel.

 

How old are the shocks? How low is the car? As far as a soft feel, I would say the shocks would be reaching the last of their life. Depending upon how low the car is, use of car, I would suggest different shocks.

 

i'm riding on Tein Super Streets, if you even think of upgrading you stock or after market struts and springs pick these up... they're a grand but better pay now then in the future...they handle ridiculously awesome, and the 16 way dampering allows you to ride as soft or as hard as you want, making pot holes seem like nothing... and they're true coilovers so you can adjust the ride height above stock or drop it down 3 to 4 inches without feeling a thing... i do recommend camber kits and new toe adjusters and strut and sway bars wouldn't hurt...

You paid 1k? Ouch. How long ago did you buy them because I have found them recently (within the past 6 months or so) for 850-900.

 

well yea i just rounded up, i got them shipped for 905, but some places might be further i round to 1k to cover shipping and handling

Shipping is a bitch....I always try to buy my parts locally to avoid that.

I have a SPC camber kit on all four corners. I just don't like the ride right now.
