Draft:how do you adjust headlights on a 99-00 ek?
i tried searching but didn't find good results. On my ek, my driver side light is much higher than the passengers, i looked around and couldn't find where to adjust the headlight.. so can someone tell me where this is at?
It's a small gear to the back of the headlight. Honestly, I would suggest taking and getting them alligned professionally.
I've actually tried alligning mine with that little gear on the back and no matter how much I turned it, it never seemed to move the headlight beam.
here you go, tooks pics just for you.
this is the back of the headlight

on the left use a screw driver and that should move the beam left and right i believe....
also pictured here
and this part on the right
use a ratchet or wrench and turn it and it should move the beam up and down...
on adjusting it might be vice versa i'm not sure but hope this helps

thx for the pics, that helped alot, alittle different looking with a 99 headlight but i get the idea, i was turning the left/right beam this whole time.. no wonder it didnt go up or down, its prob aiming the all the way right now. haha, ill try to use the other switch now.
you can also find sites on the net on where to aim the center spot of the light at... i just used a haynes manual for mine. off the top of my head heres a quick idea:
on a flat wall, use duct tape and make a 'H' shape with the 2 '|' the same distance apart as the center of your headlight houseings (ie the bulbs). the '-' part of the H is at the same level as your bulbs as well. i did this with my car right next to the wall to get an accurate idea on where to tape. then back your car up (STRAIGHT) about 20 ft. the center of the light should be on the intersections of the lines. adjust accordingly.
hope this helps, and i dont remember whats the setting for high beams but they should be fine.

SWEET! heh I have been wanting to ask that but didn't want to be beaten H-T style for asking. HaHa
I wouldn't touch the gears BTW, just the bolt adjustment to go up and down.

i have a question. During the winter snow storms, i got in a little fender bender and my headlight unit itself got pushed in and down a little . . now how can i get that aligned ? ? is it possible at all ? ?
i would face it toward a garage door at night. Then move the little gear usually you can do it with a phillips screw driver. I work at a body shop and thats how we do it unless they have the little nipples on the lens then we use a head light aiming kit

thats how the dealer would do it also lol. have your car like 15-20 feet away from the garage or a surface where u can see fence, door, building w/e, then start playing with the screws and see how u line them up.
