difference between d16a6 and my new d16a1?
i have a supercharged d16a6 and im wondering if my supercharger, clutch flywheel, pistons, rods, crank are transferable to my d16a1. And if not what kind of rods pistons and sleeves to i use iim haveing problems finding parts for the d16a1 here in MN.
Yeah that would be a waste, you'd be better off attempting to mate it to a z6 or something like that than a a1, everything is backasswords and it's DOHC.
Some true and false info here. Clutch will work, flywheel won't it's to thin. Pistons and rods will work. The pistons will yield a slightly lower compression in the A1, i have A6 pistons in my ZC, basically the same thing. The mounting thing is correct, the drivers side mount is different, you'll need to modify that. Any D-series exhaust mani will work, intake hell no. D16A1 / ZC intakes are unique, they have a wierd *** bolt pattern, so you'd have to have or make an adapter for the manifold. I think that about covers it. And this isn't "i know a guy who did this" info, i've done all of this first hand.
