first gear gettin stuck!
like the topic, im just stopped and i try puttin it in first, and thers like a block. I take it out a few times and then it finally goes in, can anyone identify the problem? im tired of people honkin at me! haha.. i have aabout 4200 miles
dude i know exactly what ur talkin about, it pisses me off too. sometimes it goes in perfect, sometimes on the second try, but every once in a while it takes like 3-5 tries then i just finally jam it into first gear. I'm interested in knowing what this is too, even though i don't have an rsx

yeah, the second to first deal works sometimes. If you just put it as far into first as it'll go then slowly gas it and release the clutch, it will go in most of the time. Kinda scary tho, cause if it doesn't it grinds. um yeah..
It is normal bro, everyones tranny does this from time to time. Mine does this and I have had every syncro replaced in the tranny. If this happens again just put it back into neutral, release the clutch then try again.
its the synchronizers....they suck *****...they are little brass things, vs. the new S2k's carbon steel ones...
Here is how i deal with it!
DO NOT SHOVE IT INTO GEAR WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!!!! THAT HARMS THE GEARS THEMSELVES!!!
Just simply heel toe ( right foots toe on the brake and right foots heel on the gas) it into gear...by hitting the gas, you speed up the synchros to idling speed, or the engine speed as you decelerate....
the reason it doesnt want to go into gear is because the tranny is at a differnt speed than the motor...the synchros JUST DONT WANT TO ENGAUGE the dog teeth...
again, just gas it a little and watch it SLIDE right into gear.....effertlessly...
.....I learnd this from a IRL driver, he sold me the car at the Honda Dealership...NO JOKE...he told me this technique wile i was having tranny problems, this is how you get around them....

all of you ep3ers should get on the running list of people with tranny probs on ephatch.com they have a petition to honda about it. I agree with simann says just a little throttle and it slides right in.
