Default d15b = HF & Sohc Vtec????

My HF's engine code is d15b. I know that the 92-95 Sohc Vtec motor is a d15b too right?? what is the difference in the two motors..my hf is a 8 valve non-vtec that is horrible on performance. the 92-95 has 16 valves and vtec?? why are the engine codes the same????

The 92-95 is a d16z6 sohc v-tec. If you look at your engine code, it is a d15b1, two totally different motors. d15b1=62 hp , d16z6=127 hp.

Honda also had a 1.5 economy SOHC VTEC in the 92-95's, I think it was only offered in one of the hatch models
