RPM's not right
Whenever I drive and then stop (I press in the clutch, shift to to neutral, and brake simultaneously - technically coasting) the rpms never reach the normal idle @ 700 until the car comes to a complete stop..before that it just stays at 12-1400.
Even if I dont use the brake and coast down a long hill before a light it does the same thing. Once the car fully stops, idle is where it is supposed to be.
There is no engine load...I dont get it.
And sometimes, the idle will raise back up even after it settles to normal...falling back after a second or two.
Ive tried the idle speed screw, Ive cleaned the iacv, played w/ throttle cable, bled coolant for air, checked voltage...what else can I check?
Normally I wouldnt care, but @ around 1300 I have this really annoying exhaust rattle from...something I havent figured out yet (Im guessing the cat)

My car has done what yours does ever since I bought it brand new from the dealer. I don't have a problem with it. And at idle, when the RPMs raise, it could be due to your fan coming on (the reason for mine). Maybe you just can't hear the fan over your exhaust (if it's aftermarket and loud). I can no longer hear mine unless I'm standing outside at the front of the car. Anywhere else and my Spoon N1 is too loud.
well see, the strange thing is it just recently started doing this...maybe over the past few months.
my fan hasnt kicked on since november. Im running a dual core and its efficient enough to where the fan isnt needed yet. When it gets warmer (the 1 day it was 70) it did turn on though.
