Hood Lock? Hood security?
If I was to get a carbon fiber hood, how am i supposed to keep it from getting stolen? I mean, it only takes like 15 minutes to put on, but i'm sure a good thief could get it off faster then that. What is the difference between a hood lock and hood pins? Also, where can i get a hood lock at? Thanks for the help. I did do a search for "hood lock" but came up with nothing.

I've seen those before...kinda like a vending machine key lock right? How hard is it to install those kind of pins? Is each key unique or could i just buy the same set as you from the same place and presto...i've got access to your hood? If unique
if not
Another question...what is the exact use for hood pins? To keep your hood from flying off? Isnt that what the hood latch is for? Cosmetic? Thanks in advance for any info.

at some times, the factory hood latch will fail.. so hood pins are for safe measures..

Dan my man... hood pins give extra security
so that when u're doin 70+ on the highway, ur hood wont fly open on you!
(note: the light weight of these hoods... the wind can pick up and open that shitz)
i've had about 2 friends that happened to them just recently...
just do hood pins with hood latch, most common thing to do

Hmm that's funny Josh i was doin' 95 last night(shame on me) and my hood didn't fly off...oh thats right though...i no have carbon fiber. I'm looking for something to secure my hood not for safety, but security. So they can't steal a cf hood(future mod) or gain access to the hood compartment. Dang thieves have tried to jock my car twice. Don't know what they want...don't have anything but some heavy *** chrome rims on her. Maybe i'll throw the steelies back on so nobody will try to jock my shiat.

No i'm not mad Josh ya loser!
Paint matched? My car is black, so this shouldn't be a prob right? Oh, and the reason i would like a hood is because my oem hood is scratched and has a few dents. Not my fault...previous owners...I HATE USED CARS!!! And as far as being worried about it getting stolen...so don't buy one...i'm not gonna let the thieves win, so i'm getting one anyways.

Hey another question how hard is it to install the hood pins? What do they mount to underneath? I really like those key locking ones...looks clean IMO. Nice teg thaiphob. I think i'm gonna go with those kinda pins. Oh yeah...almost forgot...are those bodykitsNW hoods really crap? They're not a bad deal, but if they are crap they are.
