Default Locking VTEC mechanisim to degreeing the cams?

I'm going to do a degreeing of my CROWER stage 1 cams...but from crower they indicate that the VTEC mechanisim must be lock to do this work!

Anyone knows how to do this?

I think they mean the larger vtec lobe must be in line with the low rpm lobes.

To appropiately adjust the cam the vtec lobe must be moving the valve train, but i'm not sure how to made this happen with the engine outside of the car.
