Default engine help

i'm new to ht. i tried doing a search but didn't get my questions answered. i have a 91 si. i was looking to do a b16 swap but it looks like it is going to cost over 2000 to do it. is the dohc zc swap cheaper? is it any easier, meaning do i still have to replace the axels and buy motor mounts and is there anything that would make it harder? i would like to spend less than 2000 and i don't ever plan to boost.

well i have 88 hatch B16A setup i love it i saved for it for two years i have three kids and a wife mind u but it i still have some bugs to work out i spent about 2500 to do it. it is a pain in the *** WHY because of the little parts that get u took longer than expected but well worth it. I thought about a dohc zc but i heard that it was more tricky to pass smog and stuff but less expensive and it was a bolt on just convert to mpfi and a first gen teg ecu. i wanted the vtec. But if u want to go the inexpensive way go zc if u want to spend more go doch vtec its up to u
DOCH ZC are respectable engines too.

definitely an easier and cheaper swap than a b16. you can keep your tranny, axles, etc. i'm not a big fan of the motor, but its good bang-for-the-buck. and remember, as with any motor swap, just be smart and be sure to do some preventive maintenance on it before you go out and beat on it.

ZC uses your old motor mounts. Easy enough to do yourself.

Why not just turbo the d16a6 and put out more power than both?! You can safely turbo it for 8 psi for under $1000 and put out more HP than a b16a or a ZC would.
