The CR-V did and still does come with M/T. I have yet to see one fixed up. I once saw one with a custom exhaust but that was it. They have been fixed up for off-road with brush guards and bigger tires but not for the street. Not a good choice. You could put a VTEC head on the CR-V block and gain some grunt. Honda tuning put a CR-V drivetrain into an integra. See the CR-V has a four-wheel drive system called REALTIME. In otherwords, when you need it, or when your tire looses traction a signal is sent to transfer the power to the other wheels. Only problem with this is if your tires aren't exactly the same (all four) it will consider this slipping. When you replace a tire or even two we have to replace all four. (I work at a Honda Dealership)

It would be the waist of time and money the cr-v is totally substandard for any type of off roading from its lack of a low range to it real time 4 wheel drive and unibody construction

I love seeing modified CRVs. I used to have a link to a Japanese CRV club (I bet I could find it again). Some of them were pretty sweet.

And ignore Ranger Joe: He's the anti CR-V person.

No one buys CR-Vs for hard-core off roading ... It'd be the equivilant of taking a Subaru on the rubicon - you just don't do it.

you got your opinion... and why mod a legend?

its the same principle...

im prolly guessing you havent seen a nicely modded CRV..

me myself ive seen MANY turbo'd CRV

and they perform just fine...true its not a all out 4wd off road redneck kinna truck.. but im pretty sure theres many lifted trucks that never seen dirt.. but modded to look like one....and my main purpose of modding mine is because its a hobby... and i want a little more passing power and climbing power with my crv

there is one out here that I believe has a TSX bottom end. It's also boosted, I see it everyonce in a while. I'll try to get a pic.

There are also numerous older model ones w/ all types of b series swaps, a good amount boosting too

whats the point? are you down to mid 15s in that turbo crv?

oh ya, and a legend was actually made to be a sports luxury car. competing with BMW 5 series, lexus LS, and mercedes E class.

the difference is. a modded out truck COULD offroad, and do quite well if that is what the owner wanted. a CRV is worthless for offroading. its made to be an economical lifted station wagon. not made for speed, offroading, or anything of the sort. doing engine swaps and the sort is worthless for this car. its heavy, has horrible gearing, low, mid, and high. *NOT MADE TO GO FAST* or look pretty as a matter of fact. they are not comfortable inside, not driver oriented, top heavy (horrible handling), crappy AWD system which barely put any power to the back wheels, and is primarily a FWD car.

luciferi. looks like you have a boost gauge, but no turbo....nice.

******* ricer.

thats prolly the worst post ever....thats jus tlike saying trucks arent made to go offroad they are made to go to work and haul ****.. thats why they have as they called "aftermarket parts" remember your basicly trying also say that a lancer evo or a WRX isnt made to go offroad because its a "CAR" but they go through more hecktic terrains then that white boy redneck jumping small dune california lift gay **** that the only thing they mostly do is jump curves and speedbumps...

I wonder if you even know what downsyndrome is....You need to work on making coherant sentances. Periods are your friend. I hope all of your nearly 600 posts are more informed than your previous one.

The thing about a WRX/EVOs, is they are sport sedans. Built for a few specific reasons. Sone of them being speed, good handling (low to the ground, and AWD that actually does some good), and useability (seats 5). The ones you see on the road are NOT made for those races you see on TV. Tens of thousands of dollars are put into those cars to make them ready to do that kind of stuff. Lancers are FWD btw. At least the ones they sell here.

Trucks ARE made to be able to go offroad (the 4WD ones). Ground clearance, low range torque, 4WD low, etc. They ARE made to be able to tow heavy objects. Hence why they have a strong chassis. I'd like to see a CRV tow 5 tons.

Look at the chassis dude. They sure put it there for a reason. Oh yes, its for towing, carrying, or transporting LARGE OBJECTS.
(chevy 2500HD truck)
Trucks have 4WD systems that actually do some good, besides putting a badge on the back, and a differential at the back wheels. IE. Live rear axle, heavy duty driveshaft, torque converter which can come pretty close to evenly spreading power between the four tires if it needs to.

Seriously, where are you coming from? What part of my previous post was not accurate?

You have absolutey no idea what actually on my car. I don't post pics of everything. Yes it has a boost gauge for a reason. Maybe you should take your dick out your sister and buy a clue.

Anybody that compares an overpriced accord to a bmw mercedes shows his intelligence.

RangerJoe you're a dumbass.. you're comparing apples and oranges when you're comparing a heavy duty chevy and a CRV.

Who gives a flying care if the man wants to mod the CRV? Its different. Probably a lot faster than ur legend.

btw and if think civics/integras and such are made to go fast?? Its very easy to put any B series engine and trannyin the crv. If you would know any better the CRV is based off the civic chassis.
