Default Quick question about Skunk2 Intake Manifold.

This bracket isn't carried over to the Skunk manifold, correct?

I'm in the process of swapping over all the necessary parts. Since the GSR manifold is so heavy, I'm guessing the bracket is needed to support it.

Nope, the bracket isn't required.

Cool, thanks guys.

Can't wait to get everything back together. This time around, S2S1 cams, valvetrain, p&p head, 3 angle valve job, milled, decked, oversized B16 pistons, inlinefour TB, Hondata, etc...

Should be a fun summer.

y does every1 say get itr cams? i have seen name brand cams with low miles for the same price. its like u want the persons car to be slow. look around and get some stage 2's. if you get new cams and dont have a lumpy idle you wasted time and money. actually itr tb isn't all that great of a deal either. i paid 90 for a gsr had it taper bored to almost the same specs as an itr one. mine is 65.5mm at the mouth and either 58 or 60 at the im.

To get the most out of the skunk2 stage 2's, you're going to have to raise your compression alot. I'd say 11.5:01-12.0:01 at the least. Raising your compression that high requires you to change out the pistons, in which case, you'll be spending lots of money on parts and especially labor. Quite a difference from just swapping out cams if you ask me.

People suggest ITR cams because they're OEM quality and they provide great gains when tuned properly. If you have a stock gsr block, i wouldn't go more then skunk2 stage 1's/ctr/itr cams. I've seen lots of people put out shitty numbers because they thought slapping in bigger cams meant more power.

I wouldn't get the skunk2 manifold if you don't plan on getting cams. The gsr manifold really puts out great midrange power over the skunk2. You might not notice it now, but you will once you put the skunk2 manifold on. Also, if you don't have any tuning devices, it will really mess up your powerband. If you think your car feels pretty gutless in the low end, it will feel like a geo metro with the skunk2 manifold until around 6000 rpm.
