ITR forum needs REMODELING

Hey everyone I am gonna kinda go out on a limb here knowing I might get flamed or I might get supported...
I have been a HT member now for long enough to realize that the Type R forum has slowly but surly been on a downward spiral.... lately all its been is bull **** and people posting stupid *** post even to just say literally "hello" and that was all they wrote.... people have not been trying to contribute to the site as far as help and informational stuff....
Personally thats what I joined for, which is to learn and see the information that this site was best known for.....I myself have not done alot because of a lack of a digi cam that being said one is on the way....
There has been some members who we all know have left because of the downfall of the forum and I think it's sad, I know members personally who have not even been on the site in a long while because of it and I find myself less prone to come here cause the INFORMATION and following of projects and problems are dwindling... all in all I say we need to turn it around and have the mods weed out the LOSERS that are just taking up space.
All opinions welcome

i think its because there isn't really much more to cover. almost everything has been covered..
but when someone posts a topic asking for a tech related issue.. it's always the same response from everyone
"use the search" "search n00b" yada yada yada
which is sort of true. a lot of the technical issues have been discussed several times over. when i have an issue, i search and i can usually find it if i can't find it in my helms.
but whatever, i think people stress too much about a forum (this is not towards you).. especially the ones that go "fine i'm out of here" "good bye H-T". lol.
but who am i to say anything? ok, going back to work

Word, it's a forum for a car that's 3-7 years old, what else is there to say? I look at the forum for technical help if I need it but mostly as a place to share experiences w/ people who like the same car as me.
< Who still enjoys H-T and realizes that to stay alive forums have to change. Also a little tired of these "things need to change" and "I'm leaving" posts

I have to agree with Jonas, there's only so much information that can actually be covered and the majority of it has. Until somebody steps up and really makes a development using the DC2R chassis, then the forum will forever be on this downward spiral. I used to spend all of my time specifically in the ITR forum, however I now spread it out over several others. I think a lot of other people are doing the same.

So true. I can't stand it when people simply reply "search". Maybe people want their own answers and not someone else's answers from three years ago. Personally, I use HT as a source of reference when my R screws up (crossing fingers).

Like others said, there is only so much left to cover. I dont think there are too many other cars out there that have been tested, tuned, adjusted, modified, etc, as the R has. I mean think about it, EVERY aspect of the R has been developed, changed, and improved(where possible). There just isnt much left. The R is just becoming out dated and there isnt much left to delve into.
I come to this forum every day, and I dont really go into other forums other than GDD occassionally, and sometimes the classifieds. The board used to move very fast, but as of late, its been very slow and not even changing a single page within a day.
Im not leaving like the others, Ill continue to use this forum as a reference for any problems or questions I might have. Search has just about everything you need. I would like to thank all the OG members who were out there busting their asses, trying new things, and pushing the limits of the R at a very early stage. Their knowledge is well documented in the archives. Ive also met a lot of people from here, in person and online, who have been a great help. And Ill continue to talk to those people when the forum is totally dead. Eventually we will all move on to bigger and better things, whether it be cars or life in general. Its just the natural progression of life. My biggest fear for this forum is that the information is somehow lost or the site is terminated. It would be like closing the ITR library and that would truely suck. Otherwise, the n00bs will come in, they will ***** it up, and a new group of regulars will appear, though it may not be as big as it once was.
See you guys around

Hehehe ... seems like interest in the ITR Expo parallels the "state" of the people interested in the ITR Expo.
Namely more show cars and less track/roadcourse cars.
Oh well, each to his own.
Yo Bitch! How Ya like Ma Spinnaz?

I can't wait till you all find the secret torque switch Honda put in our cars. Then we'll all have 500hp beasts and this forum will swarm again.
to that day.

So far, I'm not all that impressed with that place. There are some people there who insist on posting all kinds of off-topic stuff about Civics, Preludes, Accords, and GS-Rs - stuff that moderators here on h-t.com would just move to the appropriate forum. There's also a guy whose overuse of chat room abbreviations ("u r") makes him sound like he's about six years old.
Frankly, I think things here go through cycles. Right now, what I think is GOOD about h-t.com is that the moderators are doing a pretty good job, by locking stupid threads quickly, and by moving stuff when it's posted to the wrong forum. It's a lot better than at times in the past.
Another thing to realize is that not everything "has already been said". I think people who say that are only looking for certain kinds of topics, mostly technical (e.g. what's the best header for the ITR, just to cite one example). There are lots of other kinds of topics that will never run out of subjects - things like incidents that happen to someone, sightings, etc. I realize that not everyone looks for, and enjoys, the same kinds of topics here. But as long as they're ITR-related, they belong here, and anyone here can scan the list of topic titles and just open the ones you're interested in.

It's slow moving because the owner of ITRCA is now the co-owner of Honda-Acura.Net and they are in the middle of combining the databases.
I've noticed that some of the ITRCA regular posters are posting at HAN, and I've noticed that some Honda-Tech prolific posters (and most helpful people) are now moderators and posting at HAN.
Honda-Challenge just announced that they are moving their official forum to HAN, too.
There's something going on over there.

there is still more content to be covered
eveyrone is just fat and lazy and used to doing all the work for them
remember when mike k and jeff @ ib did all those cam tests?
if people wanted to work together to do more dyno testing that will keep things alive without talking about stupid stuff
im working on a throttle body test and a few other things. maily just limited by the amount of time I have to spend on a project
if you are in the bay area, and have some extra parts, i can get free dyno time on a dyna pack if its for part testing

I think there is still much content to be covered, but I do agree on the fact that there has been many noob type posts lately where the search funtion could have been used.
Its a phase, it shall past.

I don't think so.
By "slow moving", I assume nightrider meant that not a lot of posting is going on, so the index page doesn't change all that frequently. And that's true; the number of posts in a day there is a tiny fraction of those here on h-t.com
This has nothing to do with whether the response time of those forums might be slower during the database conversion.
