I just bought a 98 Honda Civic HX with no motor, no tranny, no glass . I helped the guy I bought it from gut this car down to bare metal everywhere and took out all of the weight possible. We even installed a one piece fiberglass front end that weighs a total of 22lbs with the mounting hardware. It weighs just a nut hair more than a CRX right now. With the D15Z with Vtec-E that came with the car, Intake, Full Exhaust, Flex-A-Lite Fans, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Chip, a 75 shot of nitrous, Suspension, drag radials, and a few other parts we mananged to run a 13.5 et. and a 13.3 et. on the same day in Sacramento, CA before the motor gave up on us because of a bad gear shift using nitrous. I have been busy working on my 98 Chevy S10 and my roommate's SR20DET swap into his 200SX SE-R, so I have been away from this car since I worked on it a year and a half ago or any Honda for that matter. I need help on what JDM motor/tranny setup to use and any help on things to buy to make this swap as painless as possible. I need knowledge and advice for this car from people who have done swaps for this year. Any help would be appreciated.

I've narrowed it down to a B16, or a B18, but I need some advice and knowledge on this. I don't really want to go through the hassle of doing an H22.

Anything and everything that you want to know about those engines has already been posted and is sitting in archive waiting for you. If you have a specific concern about one of the engines by all means please post it, but for use to sit here and answer your question about which engine you should get would be so redundant it's not even funny.
