Default Just got my dc5 back from a miss shift repair....

Alright, I got my car back from the shop...just wanted to know if my car lost compression or is it just me? I took the car to the 1/4 to test it out but never got close to the times i was getting before the miss shift happened. Is it just me? I know the car has new valves and all that good stuff, but I feel like its not giving me the full potential. it mught just be me.

I felt the same after I got mine back but you have to realize you probably have alot of new parts and you just need to break your motor in again. After re-breaking mine in runs great again.

my times where in the high to mid 16's at about 5,000ft above sea level. I use to run low to mid 15's...but then again, I just think its just me. I'm so concious and afraid it might happen again so I keep the rpm's below 7k. But other than that, my car runs good.

Did they replace the head alone or the block assembly and head assembly both.

If so they are all new, be gentle and break them in as a new engine. Don't kill it for the first 600 miles. Then drive it like you would all the time.

Before you start pulling on it, you should break in the motor.

Default rattling noise in civic 93 manual hatch

recently especially on first gear (not neutral revving) , there is some rattling noise wen the car moves (CIVIC 93 hatch b15 manual). the mechanic told me its the gearbox and diff and it all needs to be changed.. any ideas???

why would the gearbox fail, and if i replace it, could it hapen agen.. any ideas on what it could be other than the gearbox.. it aint a leak in the exhaust i checked already, and the car aint as powerful as b4 aswell...

I realize this thread is a couple weeks old
you're wondering why your car is slower in the 1/4 when you don't shift at the redline and keep the revs under 7k......hmmmm this is a tough one . cmon you can't be serious

a friend of mine with his stype S after over rev damage and repair his car sucks. he has header back exhaust, intake, springs, and a couple other mods and cant break a 15 flat. and its not all the driver either.

a mis-shifted engine never feels the same even after the repair....

It won't ever feel the same again, unless you replace everything... IMO of course
