I don't have too many friends and the few I have either have a Type R or I am confident they're not going to go street racing and smack it into a pole. I taught my friend how to drive a stick on mine. I didn't mind since I had a B16 tranny in it and 2 Type R trannies in the garage
I dont really let my friends drive my caR. But not because its a superior ITR, mainly because I dont trust their driving, I dont trust anyones driving except my own. And I dont want anyone to get owned by LTOS. If someone does drive your caR, its almost a guarantee they are gonna romp on it. One of my friends/mechanic did drive the R for a day while he was doing some work on it, he got pulled over doing 91 in a 55. Needless to say he doesnt drive the car anymore.
only a couple of my close friends who i know can:
1. drive a manual well or very well
2. i trust their driving ability
3. will pay for damages if they crashed it (deductible)

Only those covered by the policy or those I trust AND are willing to give me in writing that they are fully liable for up to the insured value of $33000 AUD (~$24000 USD) in the event of an accident. It's just another way of saying no.
