Default SHIPPING CARS???

Hi I a person that is intrested in buying my HPDE car. The car needs to be shipped from cleveland,oh to Tuscon,AZ. I'm assuming as long as its drivable it will be ok as in no extra charges? it does have a cage and very few mods, its not a race car but a HPDE car, would have any issues with companies the way the car is setup?

My second question is, if anybody knows of a trusting company that is affordable to ship?

Thank you for your responses

I've shipped 3 different cars with this company....

http://www.dependableautoshippers.com

worked out well every time. They have different options (closed container, open container, etc)

Friendly people easy to work with fast over the phone / e-mail quotes.

Oh yeah.. one thing is they do not allow any loose parts in the car, so if yo uare planning to ship any extra sets of wheels, or misc. parts they need to be secured, or have to be shipped seperately.

Thought you might want to know in advance.

First rule in shipping a car:

Get you own specialized insurance. There is 101 things that are not covered by the trucker's policy including weather damage and driver neglect. (search Parrish-Heacock insurance company who writes policies for Great American insurance)

Second rule in shipping a car:

If you book through a broker, get a copy of the carrier's insurance rider. The details of that policy are were the real risk lies.

...Oh and add 2 week to the sheduled delivery date.

As far as I know as long as the car can be driven on and the carrier, there is no problems. Most companies will not allow "extra" items in the car so if it comes with a bunch of spares, you might have to address those seperately.

If you shop price, you can find some pretty shitty carriers. If I ever ship again, I'll hire an enclosed carrier which although is more expensive - it's a hell of a lot less risky.

Whos buying this car in Tucson?

Anyway I've shipped my car accorss country and the place I went through was on time 100% and no damage at all. They ship Ferraris and other high end cars all the time and never have a problem. My car was slammed and they said "no problem, we just shipped an Integra so low you could barely fit your foot under it( )".

If someone is buying your car you should leave it up to them to choose the carrier, arrange shipping, and if they want additional insurance, they can arrange it.

Sell the car to the guy...then he ships his car to himself.
