Default Problem with 92 GSR.....Feels like no power.

My little brother has a 92 gsr with 134K miles on it. He has a AEM CAI with bypass, DC Stainless catback, plugs, wires. We read in a magazine that it is supposed to run a 16.0 stock. Thats what I figured because basically its a B16 and thats what Sis run. Well we ran a 16.8 at the track. I thought it was him as a bad driver but I drove it( much better driver) And got the same thing. It just feels like it doesn't want to put any power down. Doesn't want to pull at all. Maybe compression is low? I have no clue.

due to it's light weight, g2 gs-r's are pretty damn quick. the best 0-60 i've seen was 6.8 sec...can't quite remember the 1/4 time though. from what you describe, it could be anything! do a compression test (you do have 134k), maybe you just need a valve ajustment.
good luck

The root of the problem lies in knowing the facts first, then implementing a corrective actions plan to solve your problems...
Hehehe you sound like a 6 sigma seminar.

I stand corrected. Still, I wouldnt exactly call that lightweight. my G2 is under 2300 pounds w/o driver and I still consider it a porker.

go have it inspected, compression test, and scheduled maintance. Should let you knwo if someothing is up, espically the compression check.

all regular maintenance has been done, oil, cap , plugs, wires, clutch, timing belt, water pump, valves WERE adjusted like 15,000 ago. Could it be a clogged cat or maybe bad fuel filter? I put the car on the scanner and it said all the injectors were fine. Could it be maybe a bent valve or something? What would cause the compression to drop if it is bad? Thanks for all the help. And thanks for letting me know how much my little bros car weighs!haha

Something is definately wrong...I like others have said would do a compression and leakdown test to see how healthy it is. If that checks out great, you could have a clogged cat or something.
