usually a cat back system implies from the cat back...some systems are bolt on some require weilding....my catback system did not include a cat...so i guess it was really an axel back...

no, cat back means you get a length of piping w/ resonator that connects from the catalytic converter that you already have on the car to a muffler with piping, that will come with the exhaust system as well. It comes in 2 parts. You don't have to do any welding, it bolts up perfectly unless its defective or isn't made for your exact car.

Its the part of the exhaust system from the cat, consisting of the B-pipe and muffler. No need for a new cat or welding.

lets break it down; catback "cat" catalitic converter. "back" behind. put them together what do you get.... behind cat. aka after the cat.

hope that helped.

it means from the cat back...catalytic converter is not included but most catback exhausts will bolt right up with no modification....dont feel bad, everyone has to start somewhere

EDIT: wow, 5 replies in under 3 minutes....

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by paybac4223 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">usually a cat back system implies from the cat back...some systems are bolt on some require weilding....my catback system did not include a cat...so i guess it was really an axel back... </TD></TR></TABLE>

Axle back is just the muffler and about 8-10 inches of piping.
