Default Straightening steerting wheel 4th Gen ?

I changedout my cradle and with the wheels staight ahead the steering wheel is 140 degrees-ish anti-clockwise. This is because of the tab on the spindle that goes from the steering wheel through the firewall to the cradle UJ. It only goes in place aligned with the flat face on the uj.
So what I need to know is can I somhow loosen the steering wheel and retighten it in the correct position, It is going to have 4ws alignment on monday but I dont think it could be corrected by tie-rod adjustment

Any ideas? and how do i take the cover off of the steering wheel? (4th Gen non airbag)

You would be better off adjusting it at the steering joint.

First lock the steering wheel straight ahead, then set the tierods so they have equal length on each side then set the toe (adjusting both sides equally). Last check for proper straight ahead when driving on flat level pavement. If its still out repeat the above.

If all else fails take to to a pro!

Theres not enoughrod in tie tie rod end to do it that way. I very much doubt, Its getting aligned on monday anyway but Is the steering wheel adjustable itself?

What you should do is screw the tie rods in all the way. Than start to back them out until you get the right toe amount that you want. Don't worry about the steering wheel. Just align the car so that the tie rods are the same lengths. If you don't you will get bump steer. Than after this is done and the steering wheel is still not straight. Take the steering wheel apart so you can get to the nut that holds the wheel to the splines. Unscrew this nut pop the steering wheel off and move it on the splines. Tighten the nut and you are done.

KThe tie rodsare about even. I changed out the whole cradle which is why the wheel isnt straight up. Ill Straighten the wheel then let the dealer fine tune things

Hey what size Torx driver do it need to undo the steering wheel cover?
