Default Internal wastegate dumping to atmosphere...would it work...

Can you dump an internal WG like you would an external? I don't have emissions testing...I also don't have a catylitic converter so it's not any worse than what I've got now. Would this reduce the chance of spiking along with porting the wastegate housing? Is it even possible? I found a place with the flange, so i could have a piece built to eliminate the housing on the Greddy...and I could just match it up with my DP when I get it.....

Will it work....advantages/disadvantages.........
