chasing a pretty well driven mid 80's 911 SC at BW, passing C5's and Boxter's in between. even tough it's advanced group those guys need a lot more seat time...

i'm much faster than the 911 in certain sections. like into riverside (the big sweeper) all the way to the hill... and at best he/his car was even with me on certain section. i also seem to have him under brakes too.
and on the 200 ft. skidpad the car did 0.93 G. watch out for the upcoming SCC mag. should be the next month. my car and a FD3S (that came out 1st overall) were the chosen cars for SCC for the BFG G-Force challenge.
the G force is calculated by your time around the skidpad.

it feels ok. i don't like passing drivers that are much slower than me. i'd rather have to work hard for it... later that day when we ran the full track i was harassing a 2001 911 TT. I wish i got that on vid (batt died). He'd pulled on me several car length easily on the straights but I'm glued to his bumper by the next corner... wish I got that on video. After a lap or two of this he waived me by.

very few drivers can realize the potential of an 911 TT, it's far too much car for the majority of people who buy it i think. Cars like his del sol and even more so the Type R are perfect for weekend enthusiasts, you have a performance envelope that you can push, reasonably safely, which allows you to overtake theoretically faster cars whose drivers have to spend a great deal of their concentration just keeping their machines under control due to their own forces, to say nothing of those forces in conjunction with a difficult track. Our local 911 TT owner got power hungry, had a RUF conversion (650+ at the wheels), and then flew off a track into the trees at Nelson Ledges. Now he's got an F355...these are beautiful cars, but i seriously doubt he'll ever be able to use them to their full potential, because that's extreemly difficult to do (i'm not saying I could either). With the R, i can see myself driving it on the track at 99% consistently after a couple years of practice, and that 99% will probably be more than enough to overtake 99% of Porsche 911 TTs that I encounter, because the drivers won't be able to use the cars as effectively. Consider this a thesis or something, dunno why i took off on that

no duh.
the car is suppose to slaughter me in every catagory. decent driver in decent car will often be faster than novice driver in a killer machine. i'm not proud to pass on novice drivers but was just saying that would've been a neat footage.
actually, thanks to the relatively light weight honda's can have *really* good, if not better corner entry speed than a lot of cars. and a 240 whp hybrid with sorted suspension can very well beat a 911 TT both with skilled drivers. that's what i'm hoping someone will bring to the open track challenge next year and open some eyes.

The braking is often better as well...The top touring guys in the speedvision serious would be placing top ten in the GT series, and they're all pretty decent drivers. Nothing beats getting waved by a "faster" car, especially after a good chase...except maybe passing him in a full-on race, but that's not gonna be happening for a little while in my R at least
"hello? insurance? i need some more doors, fenders, and another paint job again...it must have been a tree or something."

which one? i don't wanna goto SCCA ones. too expensive. if you guys want we can attend a future AAS event or something. hmm i'm looking at AAS's schedule and looks like tomorrow might be their last event for the year.
ohh and my car is not a hybrid. it's a del sol vtec to start with. my eg6 still got the weak sauce 1.6 sohc vtec in it... no power.
