Default The sport biker mentality

Wassup with the "oh you ride a 600...." talk. Happened to by lifting at my gym when somebody rolls up on his R1. We chat and i tell him i have an R6 and his comment was "oh." And the next topic is always "how long can you hold your wheelie?"
Ive heard it so many times, like I NEED to have a liter bike to be respected. **** is rediculous. Anybody else deal with this on a regular basis? eh.... im just ranting.

hmm sorry this happened to you.

Maybe he felt like his ***** were a little bigger or something at the gym. You know how we all get when lifting...

But if you stop and think about it. A guy riding a 600 is just as insane as a guy riding a liter bike. they're both fast, fun, and most importantly dangerous. it's not like having a liter bike is going to save your life when you get hit by a bus.

Nah, I think most people are just wondering what the hell it is I'm riding (the race fairings don't make it look like an F3).

It depends on the person not the bike... if he said that to me, i woulda simply said "long enough to watch you go down and laugh for hours"

I love setting up a perfect pass and cutting inside these idiots at double their cornering speed. I've got several "NOS" comments after that. That's where I draw the line and stop talking to them. You know its the saddest thing when guys on new gsxr 1000s get beat in a straight line. That really gives you an idea of the extent of their skills.

I've had my share of comments like that.

how long can you hold a wheelie???hahahaha. You can hold a wheelie for miles on a 600. You can wheelie 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th with a 600cc also. I've heard of people doing wheelies up to 3rd gear without clutch on a 600.

Anytime you hear someone ask how long you can hold your wheelie, he is usually a poser trying to show off.

If you have ever taken your bike to a track, then comments like this wouldn't bother you at all. Then you can just smile and nod at the lowly squid.

For now just say to them - "a wheelie is not a testament to ones riding ability, if you think otherwise you, Mr. Squid, are a fool."

Just to keep the conversation going...

A friend and I were out riding the other day, and stopped by this dudes house who was selling a '99 CBR 600 for $3500. Anyways, his roomate rides a '01 gsxr-600. This dude swore up and down that his bike was putting down more horsepower than the gsxr, and was probably putting down more power than my bike ('01 gsxr-1000) He basically shrugged off the fact that my bike was a little bigger. I just kind of chuckled, this guy was a royal tool. his bike had been laid down two or three times, and the only performance upgrade was the slip on.

After examining my bike, he first told me my bike was salvage title due to the paint scheme. (Factory three tone blue and white). I believe this was the only year that the gixxer1k's had the three tone blue? Correct me if I'm wrong here.

He also told me the bike must not be running right because there black carbon soot inside the muffler. (this is coming from a guy who washes out the inside of his muffler, just to make it look cool. It's also coming from a guy who tried to grease his chain that day, and got more grease on the fairing, and the tire than the actual chain.)

Sorry to rant a little bit, my story really had no relevance?

CLIFF: dude bashed the fact that I had a '01 gsxr-1000 and he had a '99 cbr600, told me his bike made more power, and my bike was salvaged (which again it's not.)

Nah, never deal with people like that.

Conversation goes as follows

"So what bike you ride"
"a 250"
"isnt that a little small"
"like your *****?"

Conersation ends.
