If you want Tein SS for the EP3, you need to mod them, correct?

Or so I thought....

I am probably gonna be picking up a used set of Tein SS coilovers. The owner had these installed on his EP3. When I asked him if they were RSX or EM2 ones, he said he didn't know but he was sure they weren't the RSX ones.

So anyway, I ask him if the holes had to be enlarged for them to fit, and he said he just dropped them off at his mechanic....who didn't mention any modification needed to fit. So I'm really confused here. How the heck did these (presumably EM2) struts made for 14mm bolts fit the 16mm bolts on the EP3?

Anyone have any ideas?

I *thought* I heard that Honda changed the
suspension in late model 02s (on the Civic
coupe). Maybe that was one of the changes?

Anj, you might want to head to 7thgencivic
and see if anyone will measure their bolt
holes for you (or just knows off hand).

yeah but even if Honda modified the bolts, that doesn't mean tein changed the size. I wouldn't think they have.

For 7thgen Coupe/sedan
01 to 02 used 14mm bolts
03+ uses 16mm bolts just like EP3 now.

hmm...i'm wondering if maybe the EP3 they were installed on, was one of those early production runs with 14mm bolts. That would seem to explain it...

So does that mean Tein changed the size?

No, Tein didn't change anything.
