Default dist. install HELP

seems straightforward but some info please?

do I need to set it at TDC before removing the old one? if so, will I need an imapct gun to turn the crank? if no TDC is needed is it as simple as it seems?

I just replaced mine with an OE one. Took the old one off and put the new one on. No TDC for me.
