H23s aren't too difficult to find. One problem is finding one that was taken care of. The other problem you will have is finding an H23 ECU. The 96 H23 ECU is ODBII. Unless you plan on converting your car to ODBI.

 

well im hoping ill only have to spend 1000 bux to get the engine/tranny

I agree that these are easy to find, but tough to find in GOOD condition. Most of these usually belong to the rice rocket drivers and it has gone through alot of abuse. Best bet is too find an old grandma with one, cuz you know she aint drivin' it fast.

 

I recently bought an H23 Crate motor. The shop I am getting my boost done though found them for really reasonable prices.
