Stripping out your trunk.....Does it make your car unbalanced ?

I was going to strip everything out of the trunk of my teggie, but I was just thinkin, With so much weight in the front of the car, wouldn't stripping the back (rear seats, carpeting, sound deadening, wiper motor, spare tire and jack; probably close to 80 lbs) make the car unbalanced during tight turning situations (autox, etc.) ??? Isn't that counter productive for handling in front wheel drive cars ?

No neccisarily on FWD Car the work is all done up front, however the problem is that the car push's alot, one of the ways to combat push is to make the back end rotate quicker, which makes the car loose. People do this several ways by running a thick sway bars in the back, higher rate springs and even toe out the rear tires, all to get the back end to rotate which will make the car understeer less.

if you want a good place to learn about suspension tuning check out http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com. More specifically http://www.grassrootsmotorspor....html. Hope this helps you out.
Run your car hard with everything in it, and time yourself. Then take everything out like you're planning on doing, and run it hard again timing yourself. See how it felt to you and if you did a better time with it or without it. Ultimately if you are driving your car at the limit where cornerweights, weight transfers, and power to weight ratio are especially coming into play you are gonna have to experiment with many things besides just gutting out the rear. Sorry I tend to be wordy.......nutshell, try it and see how it feels.
