jdm cams????
The JDM Prelude Si came with the DOHC Non-VTEC F22b, similar to the H23 but with a little less torque, however it shares the P14 head with the H23 so I believe they have identical cams...

A JDM H23A is a VTEC motor. It was found in some of the accords. The F23 is an american motor that was used in the SOHC VTEC accord from 1997 and up. The only "JDM Cam" that anyone could be referring too would be the ones found in the F22B which is the JDM DOHC non-vtech motor. Correct me if i am wrong. The F22B is the exact same as the USDM H23A1 except the F22B has a smaller bore. The F22B was put in the 91-96 JDM and EURO Prelude Si. But like I said, correct me if I am wrong.

on a stock h23 with stock pistons about 10:1. the stock c/r is 9.8:1 and i think every .01 mill is a .1:1 compression gain. im not completely sure on that though

The JDM H23a is not the same as the USDM H23a1, the JDM H23a is a 2.3L DOHC VTEC motor found in the JDM 98+ Accord SiR Wagons. The motor you are thinking of is the F22b which is a DOHC Non-VTEC that is very similar to the USDM H23a1...

the guy that sold me the head is full of **** then, but its got new comp valve springs, valves, retainers, 5 angle v job plus its port/polished and milled. so i guess its not that bad of a deal..only paid $375
it should be good for about 30-40 hp right?

Oh, well if all you are doing is just swapping the head on that it isn't too difficult as long as you have a haynes manual if you don't ecatly know what your doing, probably a 5 or so... I'd recommend an s-afc unless you want to start throwing down money on a new ECU and a Hondata..
can you buy a helms locally or do they normally have to be ordered? safc's arent exactly plug and play... is it a must? i might just stick my stock ones back in. the wallet is lookin pretty slim these days. moving to to hawaii in july and im shipping the ride
so i need all the cheeze i got

ok if the jdm h23 is not the same as the usdm one then why is hmotoronline selling a jdm h23 that is identical to the usdm h23? check the bottom of this link out
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/s...d=JDMUSDM Engines&hit=25
damn link is messed up. just go to their site and the 'jdm h23' is on the last page of their motor mall

because the jdm f22b is a similar motor and is a replacemnt motor for an h23 so they just label it the h23 so people wont be confused, but now you know they lied to you and things will never be the same...
