is that like connected to the rack like this?

It looks like it, only the ball joint in this pic looks like it would go in from under the arm, the one he is showing goes in from above.
Its a balljoint for sure, and one thing is honda doesnt sell those separate. So more than likely which ever piece that balljoint is attached to you will have to buy the entire piece.

what kind of car do you have?
if this bushing/ball joint is connected to the power steering gearbox/rack
then you have to replace the outer tie rod end, but they're not that expensive.

Yeah, looks like the outer tie rod on the steering. I think this is the part you are looking for:

i dont think its part of the steering rack. if you look at my pics, the cotter pin and locking nut are on the bottom. in the steering rack, they are on the top?

alright i think i figured it out. from this picture i just took, it does look like the steerting rack bushing. If u look, it takes the same shape the only thing, it looks upside down in the diagram. what do u guys think??
that does look like the same thing but i dont need the whole are, only the bushing. on hondaautomotiveparts.com i can order just the bushing for a couple of bucks.

It looks like someone installed it upside down? If you look and picture it in reverse, it will exactly match the one on the illustration. ?

As a matter of fact, it is upside down, if you look at the pictures there is a small grove like wall at the bottom of area where the cotter pin is at, i guarantee you its on backwards. It might explain why the balljoint went bad. Have you had any issues in steering?
no, steering feels fine. i noticed that it was bad b/c every time i come to a complete stop, i would hear a click like it lifted during acceleration and came back down at a stop.
I think it's more likely that the illustration at Hondaautomotive is upside down. I've got a '99 prelude, mine looks the same as yours. I'll show you a pic from my helms manual once i got it scanned.
i wish i could but im away at school. im coming home over the weekend to fix it and wanted to order the parts ahead of time. i had my brother take the pics
