Default obd2 question

Hi guys i m new here, i sawped a 98 b18c1 in my 98 civic, the shop that did my swap has a good reputation, but did a shity job on my car i dont want to get in to details ( will be to long ).

correct me if i m wrong. my engine is a 98 so it must be a obd2, and my car a 98 civic dx is obd2 too , the ecu is a obd2 also cus it plugs in my stock harness and runs the intake air bypass ( IAB ) SO IT MUST BE A GSR ECU. the shop added some wires to the ecu, i guess for vtec and knock sensor and IAB, the engine runs fine, vtec is working.

my problem is that they did not install 2 oxygen sensors, the signal wire comming from the ecu to the second oxygen sensor was welded to the signal wire from the primery oxygen sensor ( ecu must be reading the same thing from the 2 oxy sensors) the only eror code i m getting is catalyst system efficiency below normal.

will my ecu go in safe mode or limp mode, when i reset the ecu the car feels faster to me.

please help

I've never tried "T'ing" the two oxygen sensor signals together before nor will I ever. You're ECU is not going to run in limp home mode because of this oxygen sensor problem so I don't really know why it "feels" faster when you reset the computer. Do you know how come they just didn't leave both the primary and the secondary oxygen sensor? In any case that's the easiest way to get everything straight. You'll have to untie the two and get the wiring back to how it was factory so that you can run both. A lot of times for racing on the cars that don't run OBDI computers we just plug in the secondary O2 and tie it up. It will not effect the way the engine performs, it's just used for a secondary reference. Good Luck

thanks for info.
is it possible that the engine runs to rich when the trouble code gets in, black smoke is comming out the exaust pipe when full throttle is applied.
also when car is restarted before it gets cold , let s say 0 to 15 minuts after shutdown, it will misfire or stumble upond first acceleration.

your help is appricated.
