converting problem*****let me know
I recently bought a 99-00 civic SI radio for my 96-98 civic... the radio harness is different between these years... i know that i need to convert the radio harness but on the 99-00 headunit it looks like there are two seperate harness on the back rather than the conventional one plug that honda has used in the past years. is this extra stuff not needed?? why is it there?? let me know if you know******
the smaller plug is for a changer. You can buy the plug you need for the newer stereo at any installation shop. When i installed at Good guys we carried them. YOu could get the once that plugs into the 96-98 and then get the male that will plug into the 99-00 and splic the two that way you dont have to cut the stock harness. Both parts would cost about 35 bucks. 15.99 each they are even cheaper at walmart and autozone. The Scosche parts are ha02b and ha08rb.
