Default H1 roll cage question

After looking at the HC (NASA) rules, I notice that roll cages must be maximum 6 point (+2). Is this the case in H1 as well? I have an H1 type car that would not be competitive (I am not building it for H1 since the closest ECHC race is 600 miles away from me) and I am having the cage built in the coming days. The builder, who is also my sponsor (TRAC Racing), has offered to build me a pimpy World Challenge type cage which will stiffen the chassis considerably (going against the spirit of the HC rulebook) and which will be FIA approved. I am mainly running with EMRA and FAQ (Quebec club) where this is not an issue, but I wanted to know if I ever showed up at a NASA event, will my car which is otherwise H1 legal be rejected on the basis of the cage? Would the chief scrutineer possibly approve a FIA-spec cage which is clearly as safe as a NASA spec cage? It's not like I'm gonna beat anyone with my stock B16, but I'd like to be able to run NASA enduros in the future. Thanks.

FIA does not require a diagonal brace in the main hoop (run from driver side roof to passenger side floor).

NASA requires this diagonal brace. They *might* make some exception but you really need to talk to them directly and see how flexible they are on this rule.

To start with... you must be looking at an outdated version of the HC rules. Download the current ones from here: http://www.nasaproracing.com/r...c.pdf and start over.

Among other things, there is no attachment point limit.

HC rulebook allows for chassis stiffening with the cage.. there's nothing wrong with doing that.. i'd say a good cage SHOULD do that..

Indeed, it seems I was not looking at the right rulebook. Thanks. I was not worried about having too few bars, but rather too many contact points and now I see that that is not an issue. I will definitely have the minimum NASA bars plus others.
