Default 4WS Removal

Has anyone removed all the 4ws stuff from the lude? If so, what exactly needs to be removed, and what additional parts are required to complete the "swap" (if any)

Just pull the fuse, if the alignment is fine then the rear will settle centred, Its part of a failsafe system

I actually want to REMOVE everything from the 4ws. I don't need it resetting, I just want to convert it to a 2ws car.

I wouldn't do that if I werer you. I think there is more to it than just pulling the system off. I think you might be getting into something that will be very time consuming and expensive.

I would just trade your car for a 2WS Prelude.

I LOVE my 4WS. Who cares if it weighs a little more. It's a one of a kind car. Just my opinion though.

I agree with Andy
The whole system doesn't weigh that much really. If your so worried about weight you shouldn't even have a prelude... They are pretty heavy cars.

yea i was thinkin about getting rid of my 4ws a while ago too, but found out that the whole 4ws system only weighs 80 lbs. I actually love my 4ws, and the 4ws preludes are fairly rare so i say keep it

do you have a 4th generation or a 3rd generation prelude? the older preludes have a mechanical system, which can be removed fairly easily. like others said, in 4th generation (shark cars, nostril front) you just pull the fuse.

if you have a 3rd generation prelude, i'd ask why you want to remove it? it may not be worth the effort...

What are you talking about? Bump a 5 month old thread to ask a question without saying what you are really asking?

Are you asking if you can drag a 4WS prelude? Yes you can.
You are saying you want to build a 4WS to be a drag car but you want to take the 4ws out? If that's the question. It would be smarter to get a 2WS prelude to build up. Or if you already have the 4WS it would prolly still be cheaper to buy a 2WS with a bad motor and swap your into that one.

Well, the Prelude is not a good choice for drag racing to begin with. If you are looking for a drag Prelude, sell your car and get a 2WS Prelude.

It would be a shame to ruin a unique car too. 4WS Preludes are getting rarer everyday. Let someone else use the car the way it is built.

4th Gen 2WS Preludes can be found for a low price anyway. IF yo are building one for the strip, the Prelude S would probably be your best bet. They are the lightest and you can pick them up for less money.

My opinion, don't ruin an Si or VTEC Prelude if it is only going to be stripped.

Good luck.
