Petition for an intake manifold
I have done this before (long ago), andwritten some letters to different manufacturers about making an intake manifold for us. Thinking that maybe if they had some hard proof in interest that they might make us a manifold. So I wrote edelbrock whom makes B series manifolds as you all know and told them to make us one. They sent me this:
R&D is looking into this right now. However, we probably won't be releasing
one in '04.
"Please send any replies to mlin@edelbrock.com <mailto:mlin@edelbrock.com>
Include a copy of this entire e-mail with your reply in order to help our
technical representatives help you more thoroughly.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
The Edelbrock Tech. Dept. "
So everybody should send them a note saying this is for real so they can make us some parts! They are a big outfit and easy have the resources to make a manifold in reasonable time if they wanted. So everyone pitch in and show them we want this!
And remember to say your from the prelude forum at honda tech so they know these emails are coming together!

screw skunk 2.
Joel, Anthony, Corey
can we make this a sticky for about a month. get everyone an opprotunity to see it, make a comment here and include this link on their email to edelbrock. i think if we (ht), PO.com, HPOA and any other sites start doing this that they just might make it this year. i will post it on HPOA and sticky it there.

This is what I got back on Feb 9, 2004.

Subj: Victor X Intake Manifold
The last time I heard, we were developing one in R&D -but it probably won't
be released this year.

So are you sure that they're not already throwing it into their R&D department for them to start developing? Seems to me they've already committed upon the project and have at least broken the ice.

Why not just wait for the ultra cool guy endyn/air
that is coming out
Or you could always get the pimptastic willison manifold (cant find a pic of it posted a while back)
I sent an email as well, the skunk is vapor ware to me. Even if they did bring it out at this point I proably wouldnt get one.
Good idea on this, as I have been hearing about the edelbrock for a while now as well.

I got that same email, but trust me, if there are a hundred guys emailing them saying we want this to be made they will make it. They will follow dollar signs like everyone else. I just figured that if we show some initiative and tell them to bring it they will. So come on send them some mail!
Does anybody know about the JG engine dynamics manifold for the H22, just wondering because there is one and no one hardly ever says anything about it when these kind of topics come up.

I believe a user on here have one in his race car.....but yeah I heard good things about the JG manifold for the b-series, but I beleive only one person have it for the H-series and he is still working on the car.

So is everyone in favor of a street manifold or a racing manifold? I've been thinking about a H22 swap and wouldn't mind a better alternative to the Euro-R manifold, but what do you guys want?

Me thinking I know Race= no IACV stuff on the IM where as Street=IACV stuff on the manifold.
you guys realize that these so called "wonder manifolds" aren't really gonna just bolt onmuch power. they are designed to add power when combined with other mods such as cams, higher compression, etc
Street = slightly shorter than stock runners and more area, for greater flow. Most, if not all stock equipment bolts right on. Meant to work with just bolt-ons and street cams.
Race = really short and fat runners meant for built "race only" engines.

i think every company should come out with 50 state legal stuff....so we wont get pulled over all the time...especially in california....we may loose performace....but i think hassling from the cops is worse...unless you car is going to be trailered to the track all the time...this does not apply...

OMFL are you serious? What now? all my plans have failed thanks to turbo sam...
dude, its the same with any part. the more flow the more each will create. no one part is "allmighty" on its own.

As for what application manifold to ask for, it seems to me there's already quite a few options for those looking for a race-only or boost setup. Golden Eagle, Venom, STR, AIR, etc. What's lacking is something equivalent to a Type R piece for the H22.

If that were the case, Skunk2 would have had theirs out 6 years ago when people first started petitioning them.
And while I wish you the best of luck, aftermarket companies are well aware that out of every 10 people that sign a petition or send an e-mail, they'll be lucky if just one of them actually buys the part when it's released. And considering that the H22 was a limited release engine that's been out of production for 3 years now, one shouldn't be surprised that companies aren't going to take that risk.
