Default H22A intake manifold

Is the JDM and USDM intake manifold the same?
I need to know because I have a 93 accord with a JDM h22a. I in CA and I got pulled over and a cop checked under the hood and noticed that the engine was swapped out. I took it to a smog ref to get it cleared, and he said that If I could prove that the intake manifold was USDM he will sign off on it

THey are exactly the same...expect for the fuel rail being backwards...but you should have changed that.

I think the USDM has an extra vavle on the front that is blocked off on the JDM...I want to say starting air valve or something to that effect but I can't think of it.

Haynes Manual calls it the starting air valve... It makes sure that your getting enough air when starting the car, removed mine and adjust idle and car starts perfect, dead weight if you ask me...

the ecu is labeled XXXXXX-P13-AXX for USDM XXXXX-P13-JXX for JDM

to prove that is USDM u need a ECU that says AXX and u can have a dealership sign off on it.

As for as the intake manafold, yes it is called a starting air valve and you need it to pass ref. Your JDM motor has a block off plate instead of that stupid starting air valve. You also need a corresponding OBD-1 H22 Intake with a carb # on it becaues it has the nipple for the starting air valve.

My friend bought a AEM short ram intake for a prelude yet it DID NOT have the nipple for the starting air valve and the ref called AEM and told them to fix it. Some how they still got a carb EQ # so we went to home depot and picked up a nipple drilled and tapped the Short ram intake.

As for the intake manafold, just show him a USDM 1993 helms manuel and it will have a picture of the intake manafold. Just show him that they are the same and that you have the EGR hooked up along with the purge solenoid and all the vacuum lines hooked up to the right place and he will be a happy ref.

Have fun... ref's in cali are a bitch...

been there, done that
