Steering dampener...
Good link! That's pretty informative.
As for how easy the installation is, it varies depending on which steering damper you get. Some are amazingly easy, some require more effort than they're worth. For example, I bought a WER steering damper and it was a B***H to install. I ended up returning it and probably won't bother with a damper until I start doing more trackdays.

no way man, i fricken LOVE the damper i had, i would NEVER buy another bike without putitng a damper on it the day i bought it. makes a world of differnce, but i guess it depends on your riding style, where i live its ALLL twisty back highways, if you live on flats where you can see 300 miles and there is nothign its not really worth it.

I think if you haven't already done it, set up your suspension to your weight, riding position and to your style of riding. IE. Static sag/Front preload, compression, rebound/Rear preload, compression, rebound. Once you have done that and you still feel the need to have a damper, go out and get one.
