issues with lining up the tranny...
well "i think" that we have the main shaft in and we have several bolts and one dowel pin that are lined up, but we cant get the rest in. the other thing is is that the rear mounts arent even close to lining up. is this because the engine is twisted? what is the easiest way to line this sheezy up? all ideas are welcome. thanks guys!
Persistence. You just need to keep turning the tranny shaft just a hair at a time if it doesn't line up. Once it does, you'll know it right away, because it will all slide on in place perfectly. If you don't have all the holes and dowl pins lined up, you don't have it going on the shaft correctly.
After i was sure that i had it lined up correctly. I tightned up 2-3 bolts so that there was not gap. Then i reattatched the motor/tranny mounts that were removed/moved for the install. After all that i was able to drop all the mounting bolts in place and drive her home!
