recently when i been driving, if im in the midrange rpm and i let off the gas u see the needle drop down dramatically then bounce up for a sec and slowly drop like its suppose to, but if the cars stopped it sits at 1 for a quick sec then down to 750,,, is the car suppose to do that?

and lately i been hearing some funky sounds on the exhaust while im driving from time to time, it sounds like the exahust sounds just goes out for a second, and i have to press harder on the pedal to get it back going again, but u feel that the car doesnt pull that few seconds till i floor it a little... any idea what could be the problem? sorry if i confused anyone, ill explain better if needed, thanks.

things i taken care of or replaced were ...
plugs,wires,dizzy,fuel filter, cleaned egr valves,oil change,tranny oil changed,radiator changed a few ago,intake filter changed and sprayed cleaner in the intake manifold, did a ghetto compression test.

things i didnt do..
timing belt was not done yet,timing havent been checked,

anything else that might needs to be checked? or replace?

 

I just had pretty much that same problem except without the rapid rpm drop. While at a stand still my cars idle dropped down to 500...and i would barely hear any sound from my exhaust all i had to do was replace my wires and it was fixed...? I dont know what to tell you about that one...but from what i've seen it is a common problem in 5th gen accords

which wires did you replace? new grounds?

 

i pulled the backup fuse + neg battery cable to reset the ecu, still have the weird problem.. i even cleaned most the ground connections i can find, and that made my idle go to 750-800 instead of 500.... anyone else have this problem?
