Default are Type R LSD suppost to do this

just finish swaping a 98 jdm R into my 94 dx. it runs very strong. the only thing is the LSD is very tight. when i make a tight turn at low speed, i can hear the inside tire locking up and loosing traction. i cant even drive this car with one hand on the steering wheel, when i'm in a corner and get on the gas the steering wheel just wants to straighten out. I had a LSD tranny before on my jdm b16a, it was a mechanincal LSD and it did not feel close to being as tight as this one. i was wondering if there might be an aftermarker LSD in it, or maybe because i dont have power steering, but i didn't have power steering in my crx with LSD also.

Hmmmmmmm.....well the dx also doesnt have power stearing if i am not mistaken and i have driven my friends dx which is flat out just hard to drive with one hand at all. The tire locking is confusing though and i am not sure what is ment by that.

Edit: just noticed your comment about the power stearing after i posted.

The stock type r diff shouldnt lock up the inside wheel. It only locks up when at 100%lock up. Most likely you have after market diff.

if it's an aftermarket LSD, does it sound like it's a clutch-pack type, because doesn't the mechanical type only lock up at full acceleration. mine lock up even at slight throttle. it doesn't lock up as much when coasting.

sounds like a kaaz or spoon clutch LSD. If its is a clutch type make sure your running the correct type lsd tranny oil for it as i dont think HMTF works too good with that type of LSD...kaaz have their own oil for use with theirs, not sure what sppon use but it'll be a heavier oil than the water like HMTF

damn, that means that i have to tear the tranny apart to find out what kind it is. i even bought HMTF to change it out, but haven't had the chance to yet. i gess i wont change it out now untill i find out what kind of lsd i have. i figure who ever installed the lsd in japan probably use the right oil in it now. the swap came with the axles cup still in it, so the tranny was still full with oil. and the engine didn't even look like it had more than 15k on it, so i dont think the tranny oil need change soon.
